Paglilipat ng Philippine Embassy sa Jerusalem wala sa agenda ni Pangulong Duterte sa Israel

Wala sa agenda ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang planong paglilipat ng Philippine Embassy mula Tel Aviv patungong Jerusalem sa Israel.

Sa pulong balitaan sa Malacañan, sinabi ni Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Undersecretary Ernesto Abella na nakafocus ang official visit ng pangulo sa Israel sa pagpapaigting sa economic cooperation pati na ang palitan ng expertise sa mga problemang kinakaharap ng dalawang bansa.

“This is actually not a topic of discussion. But definitely, the visit is about strengthening ties and enhancing economic cooperation, and sharing of expertise to overcome shared challenges,” ani Abella.

Sinabi pa ni Abella na tutukan din ng pangulo ang problema ng mga Pinoy workers sa Israel.

Ayon kay Abella, wala namang Pilipino ang nalalagay sa peligro sa Israel.

“On the other hand, as the SFA has said that the Philippines is really a friend to all and enemies to none, and there are certain sensitivities that we are aware of considering that we do have other partners in the Middle East area. So there’s sensitivity to those matters,” dagdag pa ni Abella.

Matatandaan na noong Disyembre, una nang napaulat na balak umano ng Pilipinas na ilipat ang embahada sa Jerusalem na pinag-aagawan ng Palestine at Israel.
