De Castro, “best choice” na maging susunod na SC chief justice – Palasyo
“Bravo! Best choice.”
Ito ang naging pahayag ng Palasyo ng Malakanyang kaugnay sa pagtatalaga ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte kay Justice Teresita Leonardo-de Castro bilang bagong chief justice ng Korte Suprema.
Sa isang mensahe, sinabi ni Presidential spokesman Harry Roque na si De Castro ang best choice dahil sa pagiging nationalist nito at judicial activist.
Isa si De Castro sa isinumiteng shortlist ng Judicial and Bar Council (JBC) kasama sina Associate Justices Diosdado Peralta at Lucas Bersamin.
Samanatala, sinabi ni Justice Secretary na nakatakdang ilabas ng Palasyo ng official appointment ni De Castro sa darating na Martes, August 28.
