3 SC justices pasok sa shortlist ng JBC para sa magiging susunod na chief justice
Nagbotohan na ang Judicial and Bar Council o JBC para sa shortlist ng susunod na Chief Justice ng Korte Suprema.
Ayon kay Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra, pasok sa shortlist sina Associate Justices Teresita Leonardo-De Castro na may anim na boto; Diosdado Peralta na may anim na boto rin; at Lucas Bersamin na nakakuha ng limang boto.
Nalaglag naman ang aplikanteng si Associate Justice Andres Reyes Jr.
Ang tatlong mahistrado na kasama sa shortlist ay nahaharap sa impeachment complaint sa Kamara.
Pero sinabi ni Guevarra na hindi sapat ang reklamo para ma-diskwalipika ang naturang mahistrado.
Maliban dito, hindi pa aniya opisyal na impeachment case ang reklamo.
Bago mag-September 19, 2018 ay kailangan nang makapili si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ng bagong Chief Justice ng Korte Suprema, kapalit ng napatalsik na si Maria Lourdes Sereno.
