86 OFWs na naapektuhan ng runway closure nakatanggap ng cash assistance mula DFA
Umabot sa 86 na overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) na bigong makalipad abroad dahil sa pagsasara sa Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) runway ang nabigyan ng P5,000 financial assistance ng gobyerno.
Matatandaang sinabi ng Deparment of Affairs (DFA) na ibibigay ang naturang ayuda para sa mga apektadong OFWs hanggang sa Biyernes.
Gayunman, iginiit ng Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) na hanggang Miyerkules ng hapon ay wala nang stranded na OFWs sa NAIA terminals.
Nag-abiso naman ang DFA sa mga nastranded na OFWs na nakaalis na ng bansa na maaari pa rin nilang matanggap ang financial assistance sa mga embahada at konsulada abroad basta’t ipakita lamang ang kanilang reissued tickets, pasaportes, certificates of employment at overseas employment certificates.
Libu-libong mga pasahero ang nastranded sa NAIA kabilang ang OFWs matapos ang pagsadsad ng eroplano ng Xiamen Airlines sa runway dahilan para isara ito at makansela at madelay ang ilang flights.
