MMC, magpupulong para talakayin ang ‘driver-only’ ban sa EDSA

Magkakaroon ng pagpupulong ang Metro Manila Council (MMC) para pag-usapan ang high-occupancy vehicle (HOV) traffic scheme ng Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) sa EDSA.

Ito ay matapos maglabas ang Senado ng resolusyon para isuspinde ang naturang traffic scheme.

Sa isang panayam, sinabi ni MMDA General Manager Jojo Garcia na nirerespesto nila ang Senate resolution kaya’t kailangan aniyang magtipun-tipon ng MMC.

Bukas naman aniya ang MMDA sa anumang nais ipabago sa naturang polisiya.

Matatandaang inilabas ang Senate Resolution No. 845 sa unang araw ng dry run ng traffic scheme.

Inihain ito nina Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III, Senate President Pro Tempore Ralph Recto, Sen. Juan Miguel Zubiri at Minority Leader Franklin Drilon.

Anila, dapat magsagawa ang MMC at MMDA ng public consultaion bago tuluyang ipatupad ang driver-only ban.
