Imumungkahi ng Makabayan bloc ng House of Representatives si ACT Teachers Party-list Representative Antonio Tinio bilang bagong house speaker kung aalisin ng kamara si Davao del Norte Representative Pantaleon Alvarez sa pwesto.
Inanunsyo ito ni Bayan Muna party-list Representative Carlos Zarate nitong Lunes ng umaga bago buksan ng kamara ang Third Regular Session nito.
Mayroong lumutang na mga ulat kung saan si former President and now Pampanga Representative Gloria Macapagal Arroyo umano ang papalit kay Alvarez kung alisin ito sa pwesto.
Samantala, si Marinduque Representative Lord Allan Jay Velasco umano ang napupusuang papalit kay Majority Leader Rodolfo Farinas.
Nanatili namang tikom ang bibig ng ilang mambabatas kaugnay ng usapin.
