Checkpoints ng PNP, gagawin nang 24/7

Lalo pang hihigpitan ng Philippine National Police (PNP) at gagawin nang 24/7 ang checkpoint at chokepoint sa ibat ibang lugar sa bansa.

Ito ay bunsod na rin ng sunud-sunod na kaso ng pagpatay kina Tanauan Mayor Antonio Halili, General Tinio, Nueva Ecija Mayor Ferdinand Bote at Trece Martirez Vice Mayor Alexander Lubigan.

Sa panayam ng Radyo Inquirer, sinabi ni PNP spokesman Senior Supt. Benigno Durana Jr., na labis na kasing nakababahala ang sunud-sunod na kaso ng pagpatay sa mga pulitiko.

Gayunman, sinabi ni Durana na kung pagbabasehan ang data ng krimen, mas mababa pa rin ito dahil sa pinaigting na anti-crime strategy kagaya ng Oplan Sita, Oplan Bakal, Oplan Galugad at iba pa.

“In fact, kung bakit po natin napababa dahil po sa ating anti-crime stratery: Oplan Bakal, Oplan Galugad, conduct of police visibility sa mga lugar na matao, random checkpoints at hindi lang po yun pati po yung tinatawag nating focus law enforcement operation. Deliberate at relentless ang aming kampanya laban sa mga most wanted person. Most of them are gun-for-hire,” paliwanag ni Durana.

Apela ni Durana sa publiko, makipagtulungan sa PNP at agad na isuplong sa kinauukulan kapag may napansin na kahina-hinalang tao sa kanilang lugar.
