Rehabilitasyon ng MRT 3 popondohan ng Japan

Nagbigay ng kahandaan ang Japanese government na maglaan sa Pilipinas ng 38.1 Billyon Yen o P18.4 Billion na loan para sa rehabilistasyon ng Metro Rail Transit 3.

Ipinaliwanag ni Finance Sec. Carlos Dominguez III na ang nasabing halaga ay hiwalay pa sa naunang commitment ng Japan na tumulong sa mga big-ticket infrastructure projects ng pamahalaan.

Sinabi ng kalihim na naplantsa ang nasabing kasunduan sa katatapos na Fifth Philippines-Japan Joint Committee on Infrastructure Development and Economic Cooperation na ginanap sa Tokyo.

Bahagi ang nasabing financial package ng Official Development Assistance (ODA) loan ng Pilipinas sa Japan.

Bukod sa MRT, nag-commit na rin ang Japan na maglalaan sila ng supplemental loan na 4.37 Billion Yen para sa second phase ng New Bohol Airport Construction and Sustainable Environmental Protection Project.

Ang iba pang mga proyekto na pinondohan ng pamahalaan ng Japan ay ang P211.4 Billion na Philippine National Railways (PNR) North 2 Project; P124.1 Billion PNR South Commuter Line; P10 Billion Road Network Development Project in Conflict-Affected Areas in Mindanao at ang Pasig-Marikina River Channel Improvement Project.
