WATCH: Malakanyang kay Sereno: Good luck sa pribadong buhay
Final at executory na ang desisyon ng Korte Supreme na nag-aalis kay dating Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno bilang punong mahistrado sa pamamagitan ng quo warranto petition.
Sa pulong balitaan sa Cotabato, sinabi ni Presidential spokesman Harry Roque na sa ayaw o gusto ng taong bayan, ito ang sistema ng demokraysa sa bansa.
Iginiit pa ni Roque na ang Kataas-taasang hukuman ang pinal na arbiter sa lahat ng kontrobersiyang legal.
“Ang hinihingi ng presidente ngayon ay magsama-sama muli ang sambayanang Pilipino. Tingin ko malinaw ang desisyon ng Korte Suprema. Alam ko po, alam ng Palasyo na maraming tututol o hindi sumasang-ayon sa desisyon pero sa ating sistema ng demokrasya ang Korte Suprema ang pinal na arbiter sa lahat ng kontrobersiyang ligal. So like it or hate it, we have to succumb to the decision of the Supreme Court. That is now final and executory decision. Tapos na ang pagiging Chief Justice ni Meilou Sereno. We wish her good luck in her everyday life as a private citizen,” pahayag ni Roque.
Kasabay nito, nagpaabot din ng wish ang Malakanyang kay Sereno at sinabing good luck na lamang sa kanyang pribadong pamumuhay bilang isang ordinaryong mamamayan.
“So like it or hate it, we have to succumb to the decision of the Supreme Court. That is now final and executory decision. Tapos na ang pagiging Chief Justice ni Meilou Sereno. We wish her good luck in her everyday life as a private citizen,” dagdag ni Roque.
Sinabi ni Roque na magkakaroon ng proseso ng pagpili ang Judicial and Bar Council (JBC) sa pagpili ng papalit kay Sereno.
Pipili aniya si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa shortlist na isusumite ng JBC.
“Magkakaroon po ng proseso ang JBC. Ang Presidente po kasi has to choose from a shortlist to be submitted by the JBC, the Judicial and Bar Council. So wala pa po tayong ideya kung sino ang mapapasama sa shortlist na isusumite sa presidente from which list he would choose the next chief justice of the Republic,” dagdag ni Roque.
