Bentahan ng sasakyan bumaba ng mahigit 13% noong Mayo

Nakapagtala ng 13.7 percent na pagbagsak sa vehicle sales sa bansa para sa buwan ng Mayo.

Sa inilabas na joint report ng Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc. (CAMPI) at Truck Manufacturers Association bago kasi maipatupad ang TRAIN law na nagpapataw ng mas mahal na buwis sa mga sasakyan ay marami na ang nakabili ng sasakyan.

Base sa datos, nakabenta ang automotive industry ng 30,620 units noong Mayo, mas mababa ng 13.7 percent kumpara sa 35,469 na naibenta noong May 2017.

Ayon kay CAMPI President Rommel Gutierrez, marami nang bumili ng sasakyan bago maging epektibo ang TRAIN law para hindi sila maapektuhan ng pagtataas ng presyo.

Sa ilalim kasi ng TRAIN law ang mga sasakyan na ang halaga ay P600,000 pababa ay pinatawan ng 4 percent na dagdag buwis.

Kung ang presyo naman ay P600,000 hanggang P1 million ay 10-percent tax ang ipinataw mula sa dating 2 percent lamang.

Habang ang mga sasakyan na ang presyo ay P1 million hanggang P4 million ay mas mataas na 20 percent ang buwis.

Samantala sa kabuuan ng naitalang vehicle sales ang Toyota Motors Philippines Corp. ang nakapagtala ng pinakamalaking benta na 43.40 percent, sinundan ng Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corp. na 18.90 percent, Nissan Philippines – 7.36 percent, Ford Philippines – 7.31 percent, at Honda Cars Philippines Inc. – 7 percent.
