$1B loan na alok ng South Korea, kayang bayaran ng Pilipinas ayon sa DOF

Malakas ang loob ng Pilipinas na tanggapin ang $1 bilyon pautang na inaalok ng South Korea dahil kayang kaya itong bayaran.

Ito ang sinabi ni Finance Sec. Carlos Dominguez III kasabay ng pangamba sa lumulubong utang ng gobyerno.

Nabatid na hanggang noong nakaraang Disyembre ang Official Development Assistance (ODA) loans ng bansa ay nasa $11.9 billion o higit P626 bilyon.

Paliwanag ni Dominguez sa alok ng South Korea, ito ay maaring bayaran ng hanggang 40 taon at may interes lang na 0.15 percent.

Ibinahagi na rin nito ang paggamitan ng pera, $172 million sa bagong Cebu International Container Port project; $50 million sa National Irrigation Administration; $100 million para sa itatayong airport sa Dumaguete at $41 million para sa isang monitoring system sa ibinabayad na buwis.

Ang natitirang higit $600 million, ayon pa kay Dominguez, ay ibubuhos sa Build, Build, Build Program ng administrasyon.
