Pagnanakaw ang motibo sa pagpatay sa assistant prosecutor ng Office of the Ombudsman na si Atty. Madonna Joy Ednaco-Tanyag.
Sa panayam ng Radyo Inquirer sinabi ni National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Chief, Director Gen. Guillermo Eleazar, isa sa dalawang naaresto sa ikinasang follow-up operation ang itinuturing nang suspek.
Ang suspek ay kinilalang si Angelito Avenido na sasampahan ng kasong robbery with homicide.
Nakuha mula kay Avenido ang wallet ng biktima na mayroong laman na P9,000 at cellphone.
Sinabi ni Eleazar na maliban sa CCTV footages sa lugar, marami ring indibidwal ang nagbigay ng impormasyon sa pulisya para sa ikadarakip ng suspek.
Si Tanyag na limang buwang buntis ay pinagsasaksak ng suspek Lunes ng umaga sa Quezon City.
