Panukalang ‘work from home’ pasado na sa Kamara

Lusot na sa ikatlo at huling pagbasa ang panukalang ‘work from home’ para sa pribadong sektor.

Sa botong 239-yes at 0-no, pumasa ang House Bill No. 7402 o ang Telecommuting Act na naglalayong bigyan ang mga empleyado sa pribadong sektor na makapagtrabaho sa labas ng opisina sa pamamagitan ng telecommunication o paggamit ng computer technologies.

Inaatasan ng panukala ang Department of Labor and Employment (DOEL) na gawin ang telecommuting program sa mga piling kumpanya na tatagal sa loob ng tatlong taon.

Kapag naging ganap na batas, papayagan ang mga employers sa private sector na i-alok at isailalim sa telecommuting program ang mga empleyado ng voluntary basis.

Kaakibat ng telecommuting program ang terms and conditions sa pagitan ng employer at empleyado katulad ng minimum labor standards na itinatakda ng batas, compensable work hours, overtime, rest days, night shift differential, at leave benefits.
