Malacañang pinuri ang pagkakalusot ni Puyat sa Commission on Appointment
Umaasa ang Malacañang na maitataguyod ni Tourism Secretary Berna Romulo-Puyat ang reporma sa kagarawan na una nang nabalot ng sunod-sunod na kontrobersiya.
Ayon kay Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque, welcome sa palasyo ang pagkakalusot ni Puyat sa makapangyarihang Commission on Appointment.
Ipinaliwanag ni Roque mahalaga ang kagawaran ng turismo para sa economic development ng bansa.
Matatandaang itinalaga ng pangulo si Puyat sa DOT noong May 8 matapos magbitiw si dating Tourism Secretary Wanda Teo.
Ilan sa mga naging kontrobersiya na kinasangkutan ni Teo ang pagbibigay ng DOT ng advertisement contract sa Bitag Multimedia Inc. na pag-aari ng kanyang kapatid na si Ben tulfo at ang P80 Million project na Buhay Carinderia ng Tourism Promotions Board na nasa ilalim din ng kanyang tanggapan.
“We are confident that Secretary Puyat’s confirmation would give further impetus to the reforms she has spearheaded in the DOT”, dagdag pa ng kalihim.
