Kalihim ng DOT at DAR, sasalang sa Commission on Appointments

Nakatakdang humarap sa Commission on Appointments sina Tourism Secretary Bernadette-Puyat Romulo at Agrarian Reform Secretary John Castriciones para sa kanilang kumpirmasyon bilang miyembro ng gabinete.

Inaasahan na walang magiging problema si Puyat sa Committee on Tourism and Economic Development na pinamumunuan nina Sen Vicente Sotto III at Rep. Jerry Trenas.

Pinalitan ni Puyat si Sec Wanda Tulfo-Teo na nagbitiw sa puwesto matapos masangkot sa P60 million tourism advertisement sa television program ng kanyang mga kapatid sa PTV -4.

Sa kaso naman ni Castriciones na dalawang beses nang humarap sa makapangyarihang CA at dalawang beses na rin nabigong makalusot sa Committee on Agrarian Reform.

May tatlong tumututol sa appointment ni Castriciones, sina dating Agriculture Sec. Leonardo Montemayor, Confederation for Unity, Advancement and Recognition of Government Employees o COURAGE national president Ferdinand Gaite at Antonia Pascual ng Departmemt of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Employees Association.

Haharap din sa CA para sa kanilang kumpirmasyon sina Socorro Balinghasay Inting, bilang Comelec commissioner, Sulpicio Confiado, Philippine Ambassador to Egypt; Akmad Atiah Sakkam, Philippine Ambassador to Jordan.

Gayundin sina AFP Chief of Staff Carlito Galvez, Generals Rolando Rodil at Joselito Maclan, maging sina Nelson Collantes at Emmanuel Mahipus, bilang reservist generals.

Samantala, hindi pa nakasama sa pagharap sa CA si Justice Sec. Menardo Guevarra.
