COMELEC Commisisoner Sheriff Abas hands-off sa plebesito para sa BBL
Nangako si Commission on Elections (COMELEC) Commissioner Sheriff Abas na hindi siya sasali sakaling magkaroon ng plebesito para sa ratipikasyon ng panukalang Bangsamoro Basic Law.
Pahayag ito ni Abas sa kanyang confirmation hearing kung saan lumusot na siya sa Commission on Appointments (CA).
Oras kasi na ipasa ng Kongreso ang BBL na bubuo sa Bangsamoro region, magsasagawa ang COMELEC ng plebisito sa mga apektadong lugar.
Pero dahil aniya sa tiyuhin niya si Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) Chief Negotiator Mohagher Iqbal ay hands off siya at hindi sasama sa plebesito.
Ide-delegate umano ni Abas ang pagsasagawa ng plebisito sa kanyang mga kasamahan sa COMELEC.
Una nang hinimok ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang Kongreso na ipasa na ang BBL bago ang May 30.
Noong Lunes naman ay sinabi ni Presidental Spokesperson Harry Roque na isesertipikang urgent ng pangulo ang panukalang batas.
