Akbayan hindi bilib sa pagsasauli ng P60 Million ng Bitag sa DOT

Nanindigan ang Akbayan Partylist na dapat sundan ng resignation ni Tourism Sec. Wanda Teo ang report na pagsasauli ni Ben Tulfo ng P60 Million na kabayaran sa placement ads ng Department of Tourism.

Ito ang reaksyon ng grupo makaraang sabihin ni Atty. Ferdie Topacio na nakahanda ang Bitag Media Unlimited Inc. (BMUI) na ibalik ang pondo sa DOT.

Si Ben Tulfo ang tumatayong producer at host ng programang Kilos Pronto sa PTV4 na nasa ilalim ng pangangasiwa ng BMUI.

Sa kanilang pahayag, sinabi ni Akbayan Spokesman Gio Tongson na ang pagbabalik ng bayad ng advertisement sa DOT ay patunay lamang na may anomalya sa kontratang pinasok ng BMUI, PTV4 at ng DOT.

“If she had an ounce of delicadeza, she would resign. Returning the money should not stop probes for accountability. It also doesn’t correct an illegal act,” ayon pa kay Tongson.

Kaninang umaga, sinabi ni Topacio na nagpasya ang BMUI na ibalik ang pondo na ibinayad sa kanila bilang act of good faith and goodwill.

Pagpapakita rin umano ito na hindi balot ng kurapsyon ang nasabing kontrata.
