Itinalaga si Bureau of Immigration (BI) Ports Operation Division chief Marc Red Mariñas bilang officer-in-charge deputy commissioner ng ahensya.
Ayon kay BI commissioner Jaime Morente si Mariñas ay itinalaga sa nasabing pwesto ni Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra matapos magbitiw si dating deputy commissioner Atty. Aimee Torrecampo-Neri.
Mananatili pa rin namang hepe ng ports operations division si Mariñas.
Dahil sa pagkakahirang kay Mariñas, tatlo na ngayon ang miyembro ng board of commissioners ng ahensya, kabilang si Morente at si BI Deputy Commissioner J. Tobias Javier.
Ayon kay Morente, si Mariñas ay seasoned immigration officer at labinglimang taon nang naninilbihan sa BI.
