Color-coding system ipatutupad ng Comelec sa pagtukoy sa election hotspots

Gagamit ang Commission on Elections (Comelec) color-coded “calibrated categorization system” para sa pagtukoy ng mga generally peaceful area at mga kritikal na lugar para sa nalalapit na Barangay at Sanggunian Kabatan elections.

Ayon kay Comelec spokesperson James Jimenez hahatiin nila sa apat na kategorya ang sistema.

Gagamitin ang kulay green para sa mga lugar na itinuturing na “nominal” ang sitwasyon, yellow kapag ang lugar ay may history ng political unrest, orange kapag may presensya ng armed groups at organized movements at pula kapag “critical areas.”

Ani Jimenez, mayorya ng bansa ay nasa green category.

Isinasapinal pa aniya ngayon ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) at Philippine National Police (PNP) ang pagtukoy sa mga lugar base sa nabanggit na mga kategorya.

Ang termino namang “election hotspot” ay opisyal nang papalitan ng Comelec at tatawagin na lamang na “areas of concern”.
