Paglilinis ng Boracay tuloy kahit walang state of calamity
Tuloy ang paglilinis sa Boracay kahit walang deklarasyon ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ng state of calamity sa isla.
Ayon kay Environment Secretary Roy Cimatu, tuloy ang paglilinis, lalo na sa wetland, mapirmahan man o hindi ng pangulo ang deklarasyon ng state of calamity sa isla.
Mayroon naman anyang ilang pondo na pwedeng magamit sa ngayon para sa rehabilitasyon ng Boracay.
Sa briefing sa Boracay, sinabi ni Cimatu na maglalaan ang Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) ng P20 milyon para sa restoration ng wetlands, mga kweba, at coastal resources.
Habang ang Department of Tourism (DOT) ay naglaan ng P1.1 bilyon para sa pag-aayos ng drainage system at P10 milyon para naman sa training ng mga manggagawa sa mga establisyimento na sumusunod sa environmental at zoning regulations.
Samantala, ang Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) ay humiling ng P500 milyon na budget para sa 5.2 kilometer road project at drainage system.
Ang Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) naman ay naglaan ng P2 bilyon para sa mga workers na mawawalan ng trabaho at P520 milyon para sa informal workers.
