QC Councilor Roderick Paulate at isa pa, kinasuhan sa Sandiganbayan

Ipinagharap ng kasong katiwalian sa Sandiganbayan si Quezon City Councilor Roderick Paulate kaugnay pagpapasuweldo ng city council sa 30 ghost employees noong 2010 ng mahigit sa P1M.

Mga kasong pagkabag sa Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act at walong kaso ng falsification of public documents kinakaharap ni Paulate at ang kanyang liaison officer na si Vicente Esquilon Bajamunde at karagdagang falsification by a public officer kay Paulate.

Nakasaad sa isinampang information sa Sandiganbayan, nagpagawa si Paulate ng pekeng Personal Data Sheet at job order sa kanyang Chief of Staff na isinumite sa Office of the Vice Mayor para sa approval, City Budget Officer para mapondohan at City Personnel Officer para mai-record.

Sinasabing naglabas ng certification si Paulate na sinasabing 40 oras kada linggo ay nagtatrabaho ang 30 empleyado mula July 1 hanggang November 15, 2010.

Ang liason officer naman ay binigyan ng kapangyarihan upang kolektahin ang suweldo ng mga ito na umabot ng P1.1M.

Sinabi ng Ombudsman pineke ni Bajamunde ang pirma ng mga empleyado samantalang ang authorization letter na ibinigay ni Paulate ay walang special powers of attorney.

Nauna ng sinibak ng Ombudsman si Paulate matapos mapatunayang guilty sa kasong administratibo pero binaliktad ng Court of Appeals kaya siya ay nakabalik bilang konsehal.
