National Writing System Act aprubado na ng House Committe on Basic Education and Culture

Posible nang maging national writing system sa bansa ang Baybayin o isa sa mga pumang pamamaraan ng pagsusulat sa Pilipinas.

Ito ay matapos aprubahan sa House Committe on Basic Education and Culture ang House Bill No. 1022 o ang National Writing System Act na isinulat ni Pangasinan Representative Leopoldo Bataoil.

Ang naturang panukala ay suportado ng Department of Education (DepEd), National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), at ng advocacy group na Baybayin, Buhayin.

Sa ilalim ng nasabing panukala, lahat ng mga local manufacturersng pagkain ay kailangang magkaroong ng Baybayin translation sa kanilang mga label.

Nakasaad rin dito na lahat ng mga local government units (LGUs) ay kailangang magkaroon ng Baybayin para sa mga signages kagaya ng mga kalye, public facilities, at iba pang mga pampublikong gusali tulad ng ospital, himpilan ng pulis at bumbero, community centers, at mga goverment halls.

Lahat rin ng mga pahayagan at magazine ay dapat magkaroon ng Baybayin translation ng kanilang mga pangalan.

At huling mandato ng panukala ang magkaroong ng information dissemination drive ang may kinalaman na mga government agency tungkol sa Baybayin.

Samantala, ang NCCA, DepEd, Commission on Higher Education (CHEd), at Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) naman ang inatasang bumuo ng impementing rules and regulations ng panukalang batas.
