3rd telco player kailangan ng P200 billion – DOF

Mangagailangan ng P200-billion ang ikatlong telcommunication player sa bansa na makikipag-kumpetensya sa dambuhalang PLDT at Globe Telecom Inc.

Ayon kay Finance Secretary Carlos Dominquez, ang nasabing halaga ang kailangang investment requirement upang maging epektibong kakumpetensya ng dalawang kasalukuyang telco.

Nauna rito, sinabi ng Department of Information and Communications Technology noong buwan ng Pebrero na maari nilang alisin ang P10-billion net worth requirement para sa mga interesadong kumpanya matapos umangal ang mga ‘potential companies’ na i-eliminate lamang nito ang gustong makipagkumpetensya sa PLDT at Globe.

Sa ilalim ng revised policy guidelines ng DICT na inilabas noong April 13, ang mga nais maging 3rd telco player ay mangangailangan ng puhunan na hindi bababa sa P10 billion upang patunayan ang “financial capability” nito.

Ang kumpanya na may pinakamataas na investment at maayos na serbisyo para sa susunod na limang taon ang pipiliing bagong telecom provider.

Kamakailan sinabi ni DICT Officer-in-Charge Eliseo Rio Jr. na ang pagpili sa ikatlong player ay gagawin nila bago ang State of the nation Address ni Pangulong Duterte sa buwan ng Hulyo.
