Comelec nagpaalala sa PNP sa paglalagay ng tamang checkpoints

Nagpaalala ang Commission on Elections (Comelec) sa mga itatalagang checkpoints kaugnay ng pagsisimula ng nationwide gun ban ngayong araw.

Kaugnay ito ng paghahanda para sa Barangay at Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections sa Mayo.

Sinabi ni Comelec Spokesman James Jimenez, kailangan na nakapwesto ang checkpoint sa mga lugar na may sapat na ilaw.

Dapat din aniya na may malaking placard at makikita ang nakasulat na “COMELEC Checkpoint” at nakalagay ang pangalan at numero ng election officer at station commander.

Dagdag pa ni Jimenez, kailangan din na naka-uniporme ang mga pulis na nakatalaga sa checkpoint at pawang “plain view” o “visual search” lamang ang isasagawa.

Samantala, Labindalawang checkpoints ang nakapwesto sa lungsod ng Maynila kaugnay ng pagsisimula ng election gun ban.

Biyernes ng gabi pa lang ay nag-inspeksyon na sa mga checkpoints si Manila Police District Director Chief Superintendent Joel Coronel.
