Aabot sa 2,000 English teachers ang planong i-deploy ng Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) sa bansang China.
Sinabi ni Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III na ito ang nakasaad sa bilateral agreement na pinirmahan ng Pilipinas at Chinese Ambassador Zhao Jianhua.
Nilinaw naman ni Bello na ang nasabing bilang ay inisyal pa lamang dahil maaaring i-renew ang kasunduan matapos ang dalawang taon.
Nakasaad sa kasunduan ang mahahalagang probisyon gaya ng sweldo, oras ng trabaho, mga benepisyo at iba pang employment rules para sa mga OFWs.
Ang mga English teachers ay makatatanggap ng buwanang sahod na aabot ng $1,200 (P61,000.00).
Sa kabuuan, sinabi ni Secretary Bello na nasa 100,000 ang English teachers na kinakailangan ng China.
