Quo Warranto pwedeng gamitin para mapatalsik ang isang impeachable official – Ex-AJ Nachura
Pwedeng gamitin ang Quo Warranto Petition para mapigil ang sinumang opisyal ng gobyerno kabilang ang impeachable official gaya ni Chief Justice on leave Maria Lourdes Sereno sa pananatili nito sa pwesto.
Sa press briefing sinabi ni dating Associate Justice Antonio Eduardo Nachura na ang quo warranto proceedings ay isang remedy o paraan na dapat ay pwedeng magamit laban sa sinuman na nananatili sa pwesto maski ang impeachable official.
Pero tumanggi si Nachura na magkomento sa merito ng kaso laban kay Sereno na inihain ni Solicitor General Jose Calida dahil pwede nitong mapre-empt ang desisyon ng Korte Suprema.
Dagdag ni Nachura, tama ang hakbang ng SolGen dahil kung hindi niya ito gagawin ay posible itong makasama sa gobyerno.
