Sec. Cayetano nagtalaga ng bagong pinuno ng Office of Public Diplomacy ng DFA
Itinalaga ni Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Sec. Alan Peter Cayetano si Elmer Gato, bilang acting assistant secretary for Public Diplomacy ng ahensya.
Si Cato ang papalit sa pwesto na iniwan noong nakaraang taon ni Asst. Sec. Charles Jose na ngayon ay Ambassador na ng bansa sa Kuala Lumpur.
Bagong naging charge’ d’ affairs sa Baghdad, Iraq, nanilbihan muna si Cato sa Philippine Embassy sa Washington DC noong 2012 hanggang 2015.
Naging press officer din siya sa Philippine Permanent Mission to the UNited Nations mula 2003 hanggang 2010.
