2 ex-BI officials na idinadawit sa P50M bribery scandal, nagpyansa sa Sandiganbayan

Naglagak ng kanya-kanyang pyansa ang dalawang dating Immigration deputy commissioner na sina Al Argosino at Michael Robles sa Sandiganbayan para sa kanilang kalayaan o provisional liberty.

Tig-P60,000 ang binayarang pyansa nina Argosino at Robles sa Sixth Division para sa isang bilang ng paglabag sa Section 3(e) ng Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act, sa Presidential Decree No. 46 na pinagbabawal ang pagtanggap ng public officials ng regalo mula sa mga pribadong indibidwal, at direct bribery.

Nahaharap din sina Argosino at Robles sa kasong plunder na isang non-bailable offense, pero hinahanapan pa ng Sandiganbayan ng probable cause ito para litisin at ipaaresto ang dalawang dating opisyal.

Kaugnay ito ng bribery scandal sa Bureau of Immigration. Tumanggap umano ng P50 milyon suhol sina Argosino at Robles mula sa negosyanteng Chinese na si Jack Lam para palayain ang 1,316 ilegal na manggagawang Chinese na inaresto sa Fontana Leisure Parks and Casino in Clark, Pampanga. Dawit din sa iskandalo ang retiradong pulis na si Wally Sombero na nagsilbi umanong middleman sa dalawang dating immigration officials at Lam.
