2 bigtime smuggling groups kinasuhan ng Customs
Kinasuhan ng Bureau of Customs Action Team Against Smugglers (BATAS) sa Department of Justice ang dalawang importer at custom broker ng Granstar Premiere Sports Corporation at Seven Myth Marketing.
Ang mga suspek ay sinampahan ng kasong gross undervaluation of imports at large—scale agricultural smuggling.
Ang Granstar Premiere Sports Corp. ay kinasuhan dahil sa gross undervaluation ng 112 units ng brand new Vespa scooters.
Ang Seven Myth Marketing naman ay ipinagharap ng large—scale agricultural smuggling dahil sa pagpupuslit ng P10 Million halaga ng bigas mula sa China.
Ayon kay Customs Chief Isidro Lapeña, binigyan niya si BATAS Executive Director Yasser Ismail Abbas ng mahigpit na direktiba na huwag na palusutin ang mga smuggler at paigtingin ang pagsasampa ng kaso laban sa small at bigtime smugglers sa bansa.
