US, pinatawan ng sanctions ang isang Iranian company dahil sa pag-hack ng university data
Papatawan ng sanction ng Estados Unidos ang Iranian company at 10 iba pa na sangkot sa cyber-attacks at pagnanakaw ng mahahalagang impormasyon.
Ayon sa US Justice Department, nag-hack ang Mabna Institute ng 31 terabytes na “intellectual property and data'” mula sa 320 univeristy sa iba’t ibang bansa.
Dahil dito ‘subject to seizure’ na ang mga ari-arian ng 2 founder ng Mabna Institute at itinuturing na na ‘fugitive’ ang mga suspek.
Sinabi naman ni US Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein na mahaharap sa ‘extradition’ ang mga Iranian kung magtatangka ang mga ito na tumakas at magtago sa ibang bansa.
Nabatid na bukod sa daan-daang mga university, target din ng naturang company na i-hack ang website ng US Department of Labor, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission at maging United Nations.
