2 dating associate commissioner ng BI kinasuhan kaugnay sa P50M bribery scandal

Nagsampa na ng patuong-patong na reklamo sa Sandiganbayan ang Office of the Ombudsman laban sa dalawang dating mataas na opisyal ng Bureau of Immigration kaugnay sa P50 million bribery scandal na kanilang kinasangkutan.

Kasong plunder, direct bribery at graft ang isinampa laban kina dating Immigration officials Al Argosino at Michael Robles, gayundin kay dating police officer Wenceslao “Wally” Sombero.

Habang kinasuhan din ng paglabag sa PD 46 si Jack Lam. Ang nasabing batas ay nagpapataw ng parusa kaugnay sa pagbibigay ng regalo ng mga public official mula sa mga pribadong indibidwal.

Hindi naman isinama ng Ombudsman sa kaso ang nasibak na si dating BI intelligence chief Charles Calima Jr., dahil sa kawalan ng probable cause.

Sa isinagawang imbestigasyon, lumitaw na tinanggap nina Argosino at Robles kasabwat si Sombero ang P50 million mula kay Lam kapalit ng paglaya ng nasa 1,316 na Chinese Workers na ilegal na nagtatrabaho sa Fontana Leisure Parks and Casino sa Clark, Pampanga.
