Pagkakaroon ng deputy chief justice sa SC ipinanukala ng JBC
Ipinanukala ng pangulo ng Integrated Bar of the Philippines in Baguio-Benguet ang pagkakaroon ng Deputy Chief Justice para protektahan sa pulitika ang hudikatura.
Ayon kay Atty. Alan Antonio Mazo, ang deputy chief justice ang otomatikong papalit sa chief justice oras na mag-retiro ito o incapacitated o hindi kayang gampanan ang tungkulin.
Sinabi ni Mazo na ang itatalagang deputy chief justice ay magmumula sa listahan ng tatlong associate justices.
Dagdag ng abogado, maaari ring ibaba mula 70 sa 60 ang edad ng mandatory retirement ng trial court justice.
Ayon kay Mazo, mainit na usapin ngayon sa legal profession ang reporma sa hudikatura sa gitna ng impeachment case at quo warranto petition na kinakaharap ni Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno.
