Walang Pinoy na nasaktan sa sunud-sunod na lidol sa Papua New Guinea

Walang Pinoy na nadamay sa magkakasunod na lindol na yumanig sa Papua New Guinea.

Ayon sa Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), ligtas ang mga Pinoy doon base sa monitoring ng Philippine Embassy sa Port Moresby.

Nagpaabot naman ng pakikiramay si Foreign Affairs Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano sa pamahalaan at mamamayan ng Papua New Guinea.

Sa datos ng DFA, aabot sa 36,000 na mga Pinoy ang naninirahan sa Papua New Guinea at 300 naman sa kalapit na Solomon Islands.

Kamakailan ay nakipagkita si Agriculture Secretary Emmanuel Piñol kay Papua New Guinea Prime Minister Peter O’Neill para ipaabot ang pakikiramay ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte.

Nangako din si Piñol na magbibigay ng donasyon na 1,000 sako ng bigas at 40-foot container na puno ng canned goods para sa mga biktima ng lindol.
