DFA magtatayo ng mga bagong consular office

Walong bagong consular offices ang target mabuksan ng Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

Ito ay upang matugunan pa ang backlog sa online appointment sa pagkuha ng passport.

Sa pagdinig ng House Committee on Good Government, sinabi ni Foreign Affairs Sec. Allan Peter Cayetano sa sandaling maitayo ang mga bagong consular office, maari nang ma-accomodate ang dami ng bilang ng mga kumukuha ng pasaporte.

Itatayo ang mga consular office sa San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte; Santiago, Isabela; Malolos o Meycauayan, Bulacan; Calamba o San Pablo, Laguna; Dasmariñas, Cavite; Antipolo, Rizal; Tagum City; at Oroquieta City.

Plano ng ahensya ayon kay Cayetano na mabuksan ang bagong consular offices bago pa sumapit ang peak season tulad na lamang kapag panahon ng Hajj ng mga Muslim.
