32 establisyimento sa El Nido, pinaaalis dahil sa mga paglabag
Pinalalayas ni Environment Secretary Roy Cimatu ang hindi bababa sa 32 establisyimento na iligal na itinayo sa beach ng isang cove sa El Nido, Palawan.
Matatagpuan ang mga ito sa mga barangay ng Masagana at Buena Suerte sa kahabaan ng Bacquit Bay.
Ayon kay DENR-Mimaropa director Natividad Bernardino, isisilbi nila ang eviction order ngayong linggo.
Inilabas ni Cimatu ang kautusan matapos mapag-alaman ng DENR-Mimaropa na 99% ng tourism establishments sa El Nido ay lumabag sa batas-kalikasan.
Ayon kay Bernardino, sa 294 establisyimento sa naturang tanyag na tourist spot, dalawa hanggang tatlong lamang dito ang sumusunod sa environmental regulations.
Ayon kay Maria Socorro Abu, regional director for Environmental Management, ilan sa mga paglabag ng mga establisyimento ay kawalan ng environmental certificates, discharge permits, permits to operate, at hazardous waste registrations. / Rohanisa Abbas
