Acting CJ Carpio sa co-ownership ng Pilipinas at China sa WPS: No way

Mariing tinanggihan ni Acting Chief Justice Antonio Carpio ang co-ownership ng Pilipinas at China sa West Philippine Sea.

Binigyang-diin ni Carpio na kailanman ay hindi isusuko ng Pilipinas ang pag-aari nito sa West Philippine Sea.

Suportado naman ni Jay Batongbacal, director of the University of the Philippines Institute for Maritime Affairs and Law of the Sea, ang pahayag ni Carpio.

Sinabi ni Batongbacal na batay sa Saligang Batas, para lamang sa mga Pilipino ang marine resources ng bansa.

Aniya, hindi lamang basta maaaring ipamahagi ng bansa ang natural resources nito.

Ang West Philippine Sea ay bahagi ng exclusive economic zone ng Pilipinas.

Noong Miyerkules, pinalutang ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na bukas siya sa joint exploration ng Pilipinas at China sa naturang teritoryo.
