Leave ni Sereno indefinite ayon sa en banc
Nilinaw ng mga mahistrado ng Korte Suprema na indefinite ang leave ni Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno.
Ayon sa labingtatlong mahistrado ng SC, nagdudulot kasi ng kalituhan sa publiko ang mga pahayag ng kampo ni Sereno na March 1 to 15 ang leave nito.
Partikular na tinukoy ng mga mahistrado nagdudulot ng “serious damage” sa integridad ng hudikatura ang pahayag ng kampo ni Sereno na ito ay naka-wellness leave.
“The Court en banc regrets the confusion that the announcements and media releases of the spokespersons of the Chief Justice have caused, which seriously damaged the integrity of the Judiciary in general and the Supreme Court in particular,” ayon sa statement ng en banc na binasan ni SC spokesperson Atty. Theodore Te.

Tanging si Associate Justice Alfredo Benjamin S. Caguioa ang hindi nakalagda sa pahayag dahil siya ay on-leave.
Kasabay nito, sinabi ng en banc na si Carpio ang magsisilbing acting chief justice habang naka-indefinite leave si Sereno.
“In view of the foregoing, the Court En banc considers to be on an indefinite leave starting March 1, 2018. Senior Associate Justice Antonio T. Carpio shall be the Acting Chief Justice. The Clerk of Court and the Office of the Court ADministrator will be informed and ordered to inform all courts and offices accodingly,” ayon pa sa en banc
