Mahigit 100 Special court, bubuuin para sa mga election protest sa 2016
Bumuo ng special courts ang Kataas-taasang Hukuman na siyang hahawak at didinig ng mga election protest sa mga munisipalidad kaugnay sa nalalapit na halalan sa 2016.
Iyan ang nakasaad sa September 24, 2015 Administrative Order na pirmado nina Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno, Senior Associate Justice Antonio Carpio at Associate Justice Presbitero Velasco.
Sa ilalim ng kautusan, mahigit 100 special court ang itinalaga sa labing tatlong rehiyon sa bansa, kabilang na ang National Capital Region.
Sa ilalim ng Rules of Procedure for Municipal Election Contests, ang mga Regional Trial Court ang may eksklusibo at orihinal na hurisdiksyon sa lahat ng mga election contests na kinasasangkutan ng mga opisyal sa munisipalidad.
Salig sa bagong kautusan ng Korte Suprema, inaatasan ang mga special court na gawing prayoridad ang election cases sa iba pang mga kaso, maliban sa mga petisyon para sa writ of habeas corpus, amparo at habeas data.
