Japanese at Philippine Ships, magsasagawa ng naval exercises ngayong araw

Nakatakdang magsagawa ng passing exercise (Passex) ang mga barkong pandigma ng Pilipinas at Japan ngayong araw.

Matatandaang nasa bansa ngayon ang Japanese destroyer na JS Amagiri para sa dalawang araw na goodwill visit.

Kasama ng JS Amagiri ang isang SH-60J anti-submarine helicopter sa pamumuno ni Commander Michiaki Mori.

Ang JS Amagiri ay isang Asagiri-class destroyer na may kakayahan sa ‘anti-submarine’ at ‘anti-surface warfares’.

Ayon kay Philippine Navy Spokesperson Capt. Lued Lincuna, kabilang sa gagawing Passex ay ang communication exercises sa pagitan ng units ng Philippine Navy at mga anti-collission procedures.

Magaganap ang naturang drill na tatagal ng isang oras sakaling lisanin na ng JS Amagiri ang Pier 15.

Layon ng pagbisita ng Japanese warship sa bansa na paigtingin pa ang ugnayan ng Pilipinas at Japan.
