PNP: Pag-aresto kay CPP Secretary Rommel Salinas hindi fake news

Binigyang-diin ng Philippine National Police (PNP) na nahuli si Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) Secretary Rommel Salinas sa pamamagitan ng isang lehitimong police operation.

Ipinaliwanag ni Police Regional Office 10 Spokesman Supt. Lemuel Gonda na nahuli nila noong May, 2017 si Salinas sa Bernard Subdivision sa Brgy. Aguada sa Ozamis City.

Sa nasabing operasyon ay nakuha sa lider-komunista ang isang MK2 grenade, ilang mga dokumento, P80,000 cash at ilang mga mapa.

Kamakailan ay muling isinilbi kay Salinas ang isa pang warrant of arrest na may lagda ni Surigao City Regional Trial Court Branch 32 Judge Dan Calderon.

May kaugnayan ito sa mga kaso ng murder, extortion at arson.

Nauna nang sinabi ng National Union of People’s Lawyers na recycled ang isyu ng pagkaka-aresto kay Salinas dahil matagal na itong hawak ng mga otoridad.

Pinayuhan naman ni Gonda ang NUPL na alamin muna ang katotohanan hingil sa sinasabing pagkaka-aresto kay Salinas bago sila pagbintangan ng paglalabas ng fake news.

Ang NUPL ay samahan ng mga abogadong kaalyado ng Communist party of the Philippines na pinamumunuan ni Atty. Edre Olalia.

Sa hiwalay na pahayag, itinanggi ni Olalia na sila ay kaalyado ng komunistang grupo.

Ayon kay Olalia, “No it is not a fact. NUPL is an independent national legal organization of pro bono human rights lawyers which has absolutely no ties, links or association whatsoever with the CPP nor of any underground or illegal organization”.
