Aabot sa 700 katao ang nawalan ng tirahan sa sunog na naganap sa Cebu City.
Ayon kay Fire Supt. Ceasar Patrocinio, Cebu provincial fire marshal, nasunog ang nasa 100 mga bahay sa Sitio Kanipaan, Barangay Sawang Calero sa lungsod.
Nagsimula ang sunog sa bahay ng isang Mario Fernandez alas 11:28 ng Huwebes ng gabi at mabilis na kumalat sa mga katabing bahay.
Alas 12:50 na ng madaling araw nang maideklarang under control ang sunog.
Nadamay sa sunog ang establisyimento ng Missionaries of the Poor at nailigtas ang 42 mga bata na nanunuluyan dito.
