Sereno: Appointment sa SC walang kinalaman sa relihiyon
Dinepensahan ni Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno ang pagtatalaga kay Atty. Jocelyn Fabian bilang Chairperson ng Technical Working Group ng Office of the Chief Justice.
Magugunitang inakusahan ni Atty. Larry Gadon, complainant ng impeachment case laban kay Sereno, na ang pagtatalaga ni Sereno kay Fabian ay bunga ng aniya’y “Christian-Christian effect.”
Ipinahayag ng Office of the Chief Justice (OCJ) hindi churchmates sina Fabian at Sereno.
Dagdag nito, isang “welcome asset” si Fabian hindi lamang sa kanilang opisina kundi sa buong hudikatura dahil sa kanyang karanasan sa loob ng 29 na taon sa pribadong sektor.
Pinakahuli rito ang Vice President, Operations Group Head at Acting Comptroller ng Stateland, Inc. mula 2011 hanggang 2013.
Sinabi rin ng OCJ na isang Certified Public Accountant si Fabian mula 1985 at isang abogado mula pa noong 2011.
Dahil dito, nanindigan ang OCJ na “highly qualified” at “well-equipped” si Fabian para tumulong sa hudikatura sa pagtukoy at resolusyon sa financial concerns.
