Pormal nang ipinag-utos ng Department of Justice (DOJ) ang pag-iimbestiga sa posibleng paglabag sa Saligang Batas ng online media outlet na Rappler.
Ginawa ito ni Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre sa bisa ng Department Order No. 017 na pinirmahan nito ngayong January 17, 2018.
Kabilang sa direktiba ni Aguirre ang pagsasagawa ng National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) ng case build-up laban sa Rappler.
Binigyan din ng DOJ ang NBI ng otorisasyon para sampahan ng kaso ang Rappler kung may makita itong ebidensya laban dito.
Una nang sinabi ni Solicitor General Jose Calida na isasailalim ng DOJ sa criminal investigation ang Rappler dahil sa posibleng paglabag sa Anti-Dummy Law.
