Petisyon upang ideklarang terorista ang NPA, ihahain sa korte sa susunod na linggo
Inaasahang sa susunod na linggo na maghahain ng petisyon ang gobyerno para ideklarang teroristang grupo ang New People’s Army.
Ayon kay Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II, isasailalim pa sa last minute consultation ang petisyon sa Office of the Executive Secretary at iba pang intelligence services.
Naniniwala si Aguirre na isang full-blown trial ang magaganap kaugnay nito at hindi maaaring madaliin.
Dagdag ng kalihim, kinakailangang malikom nila ang terroristic activities na sangkot ang NPA.
Noong Disyembre, inilabas ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang Proclamation Order No. 374 na nagdedeklara sa Communist Party of the Philippines-NPA bilang teroristang grupo.
Gayunman, ayon kay Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque, kinakailangan pa itong dumaan sa korte.
Inatasan ang Department of Justice na magsumite ng application para sa deklarasyong ito sa Regional Trial Court.
