Pope Francis, nagtalaga ng bagong kinatawan sa Pilipinas
Itinalaga ni Pope Francis si Italian Archbishop Gabriele Giordano Caccia bilang bagong Apostolic Nuncio to the Philippines.
Ito ang inihayag ng Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP).
Ang Apostolic nuncio o papal nuncio ang itinatalaga para maging permanent diplomatic representative ng Holy See sa isang bansa.
Ang appointment ng bagong kinatawan ng Santo Papa ay inihayag kagabi oras sa Pilipinas, matapos siyang makabalik sa Roma mula sa pagbisita sa Colombia.
Si Caccia na 59 anyos ay nanilbihan bilang Papal nuncio sa Lebanon mula taong 2009.
Papalitan ni Caccia si Italian Archbishop Giuseppe Pinto na nailipat sa Croatia noong Hulyo.
Tubong Milan si Caccia at naordinahan bilang pari noong June 11, 1983.
Naging arsobispo ito noong September 2009.
