Duterte, nais maipatupad ang “Free College Tuition Act” bago matapos ang taon
Nangako si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na maipapatupad na sa dulo ng taon ang Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act..
Sa talumpati ng pangulo sa pagdiriwang ng kaarawan ni Davao City First District Congressman Karlo Nograles, sinabi nito na sa pagsapit ng ikalawang semester sa mga kolehiyo ay maipapatupad na ang naturang batas.
Ayon kay Commission on Higher Education (CHEd) Commissioner Prospero De Vera, kailangan ng pamahalaan ang nasa 20 bilyong piso upang maipatupad ang batas ukol sa libreng matrikula sa 112 state universities and colleges at 16 na lokal na mga universities at colleges.
Samantala, ayon naman kay Senador Bam Aquino na isa sa mga may-akda ng naturang batas, hindi mabibigyan ng libreng tuition fee ang mga mag-aaral na mayroong bagsak na marka.
