Libu-libong itlog ng pato mula Luzon, hinarang sa Aklan
Sa kabila ng pagtanggal ng Department of Agriculture (DA) sa shipment ban ng mga poultry products, mahigpit pa ring binabantayan ng Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI) maging ng Provincial Veterinary Office ng Aklan ang shipment ng poultry products mula Luzon patungo sa Caticlan Jetty Port sa Malay, Aklan.
Dahil dito aabot sa 6,000 duck eggs ang kinumpiska at itinapon sa Malay.
Wala umanong shipment permit ang mga itlog at ang tanging impormasyon lang ay nagmula ito sa Batangas.
Hinarang ng quarantine personnel ang shipment ng duck eggs at isinailalim ito sa disinfection bago inilibing sa sanitary landfill ng bayan.
Ayon sa BAI, hindi na nila papayagan ang shipment ng mga hindi lutong itlog ng itik at lahat ng poultry products ay dadaan muna sa validation bago lisanin ang pantalan ang Caticlan port.
Ito ay bahagi ng preventive measures ng ahensya para maiwasan ang pagkalat ng bird flu sa Aklan sa ilan pang bahagi ng Western Visayas.
