Napatay ang isang jail guard sa isinagawang buy bust operation ng mga pulis sa Basey, Samar umaga ng Sabado.
Ayon kay Chief Insp. Bella Rentuaya, tagapagsalita ng Eastern Visayas Police Regional Office, kinilala ang suspek na si Aristotle Fernandez, 43 yrs old, at naka-talaga sa sub-provincial jail sa Basey.
Sinabi ni Rentuaya na napatay si Fernandez ng mga pulis nang maglabas ito ng baril habang isinasagawa ang operasyon sa Barangay Buscada bandang 10:45 ng umaga.
Nasa listahan aniya si Fernandez ng mga high-value target ng Samar Police Provincial Office.
Nakuha sa suspek ang kanyang service firearm at ilang sachet ng hinihinalang shabu.
