High School students, obligado nang dumaan sa drug testing program ng DepEd
Ipinag-utos ng Department of Education (DepEd) sa lahat ng pampubliko at pribadong eskuwelahan na magsagawa ng random drug testing sa mga mag-aaral sa high school ngayong taon.
Ayon kay Education Secretary Leonor Briones, layunin ng anti-illegal drugs program na mabigyan ng proteksyon at rehabilitasyon ang mga estudyante.
Sakaling lumabas na positibo, sinabi ng ahensiya na hindi mapapatalsik o mabibigyan ng anumang disciplinary action ang estudyante. Hindi rin anila makakaapekto ang academic record ng mga ito.
Sa halip, irerekomenda ang sinumang estudyante sa isang social worker para sa counselling at iba pa.
Samantala, siniguro rin ng DepEd na mananatili ang respeto sa pribadong resulta drug testing ng mga estudyante.
