Direktor ng 1968 zombie film na Night of the Living Dead, pumanaw na
Pumanaw na sa edad na 77 ang director na si George A. Romero na nasa likod ng zombie film na ‘Night of the Living Dead’.
Hindi na nagising mula sa kaniyang pagkakatulog si Romero na matagal nang nakikipaglaban sa sakit na lung cancer ayon sa kaniyang manager na si Chris Roe.
Ayon kay Roe, katabi ni Romero ang kaniyang asawa at anak nang siya ay pumanaw.
Noong 1968, naging tanyag ang pekikula ni Romero na mayroon lamang budget na $114,000 at kumita ng $30 million.
Matapos ang tagumpay ng ‘Night of the Living Dead’, naging direktor din Romero ng mga pelikulang ‘There’s Always Vanilla’, ‘Season of the Witch’ at ‘The Crazies’.
Sumunod niyang zombie movie ang ‘Dawn of the Dead’ na kumita ng mahigit $55 million, ang ‘Day of the Dead’, ‘Land of the Dead’ noong 2005, ‘Diary of the Dead’ noong 2008 at ‘Survival of the Dead’ noong 2010.
